Teman-temanku terheran, status yang ku update dan semua tentang seluk beluk social networking dan blogging selalu didominasi dengan dua bahasa, Indonesia dan Inggris. Sepupuku kaget, ketika melihat sebuah kotak berukuran 32x21x13 cm yang isinya dipenuhi dengan koleksi DVD film hollywood. Dan aku sendiri pun bingung mengapa 1096 buah lagu dan lebih dari 2500 lagu tersimpan di memori ponsel dan harddisk komputerku, yang semuanya berasal dari negeri Paman Sam itu.

Semuanya berawal ketika sebuah lagu berjaya di masanya, ketika diriku baru masih menginjak 14 tahun. Sebuah lagu yang dipersembahkan oleh Avril Lavigne, bernama "I Will Be". Pesona musik tanah air saat itu masih melekat erat di jiwaku, yang seratus persen memenuhi memoriku. Namun seiring berjalannya waktu selera itu kian lama makin memudar terbawa arus. Pengaruh dari dunia luar yang semakin modern dan canggih pada saat ku mulai membuka mataku pada dunia, membuka segala wawasan yang tak pernah ku temukan sebelumnya. Bibi mudaku adalah seorang yang menyukai musik berirama 'asyik' yang dikenal dengan sebutan R&B, Hip Hop, atau apalah namanya. Ia juga seorang penggemar berat Linkin Park yang berjaya pada masanya dimana mereka terkenal dan meledak di pasar musik dunia.

Lain lagi dengan ayahku, dia menyatakan bahwa "aku tidak meyukai musik barat dan apapun yang serba barat". Tapi nyatanya, hanyalah bullshit. Belasan koleksi CD musik yang menghiasai box kabin selalu menemani kemana pun kami pergi. Aku ingat dulu setiap kami bepergian jarak jauh ia tak lupa untuk mendendangkan lagu-lagu Kelly Clarkson dengan irama Pop-nya dan Shania Twain dengan musik Country-nya. Tak ketinggalan musik Rock era 90an ke bawah yang kini lebih dikenal dengan sebutan Classic Rock maupun Slow Rock itu juga turut memenuhi daftar koleksi CD dalam kabin, Musisi lawas seperti Mr. Big, Bon Jovi, dan Rollingstone sudah tak asing lagi didengar.

Berbeda denga kawan-kawanku, mereka yang nampak 'lembut' dari luar namun sebenarnya memiliki selera yang 'ganas' dan sebaliknya, menjadi suatu cerminan yang dominan. Aneh, unik, namun memang itulah pada kenyataanya. Aku menyukai karya-karya mereka dengan satu alasan, berisi. Dengan jutaan makna dan beragam aliran yang berwarna.

Berlanjut pada dunia perfilm-an dunia, hollywood-lah yang selalu menjadi bagian dari hiburanku. Ini bukan karena nilai negative-nya yang rata-rata memang seperti itu (bukan berarti film diluar produksi hollywood bebas dari point negative), tapi jauh kepada apa yang kita lihat, itulah yang kita dapatkan. That's what you see, that's what you get. Kandungan ide cerita dan plot yang tak main-main, adegan dan hikmah yang tak terlupakan, dan intisari yang dapat dipetik sebagai pelajaran kehidupan. Sebagian besar dibangun berdasarkan pada kenyataan, bukan khayalan semata. 

Dan ditutup dengan bahasa, ya bahasa. Hal yang paling mendasari dimana semua ini bisa menjadi dan terjadi. Memang sejak SD 'benih-benih' kecintaanku pada pelajaran yang dianggap 'boring' dan 'membunuh' ini muncul. Aku pikir ini asyik, lebih mengasyikan dari matematika sekali pun. Namun sayangnya hal ini aku abaikan begitu masuk jenjang SMP, yang membuat 'prestige' bahasa inggriku menurun drastis, sangat disesalkan, namun apa guna. Namun pada akhirnya aku bersyukur atas 'prestige' tadi yang menjadi satu-satunya penentu sekaligus penolongku untuk lulus tahun ini. 

Aku akan selalu mencintai ini, karena dari sinilah aku bisa memetik sebuah pelajaran kehidupan yang tak terlupakan.

Screamin'... Saosin !

Tidak ada suara berisik di kamar, tidak ada musik bernada 'keras' sejak sepekan bahkan berbulan-bulan terakhir ini. Musik yang biasa memberikanku spirit yang luar biasa karenanya. Telingaku memang sudah akrab dengan nada-nada berbau Rock, New Metal, Punk, Punk Rock, atau yang paling mencuri hatiku, Alternative  ala Paramore maupun The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

Lamanya telingaku tidak mendengarkan dendangan yang super fantastik bagi diriku, yang selalu menghangatkan suasana. Seribu alasan mengapa diriku dapat terjebak di aliran yang dipandang tidak bermakna di kalangan masyarakat yang 'buta musik' dan tidak tahu makna apa yang bisa dibawakan dalam sebuah lagu.

Bagaikan air yang bisa mengobati dehidrasi akibat serangan sang surya, aliran ini seakan bisa membuat suasana hati nampak lebih baik. Terutama dari spirit, tentunya.

Mungkin sedikit dendangan melodi Daughtry di pagi hari sebelum memulai aktivitas bisa menjadi acuan motivasi agar lebih percaya diri dan sungguh-sungguh dalam mengerjakan apapun. Take it easy!

Atau yang lebih mendalam hingga bagai dasar bumi yang membelah lautan, it's Paramore. Cikal bakalku mengenal dunia ini yang sebenarnya menyenangkan untuk digali.

Semua hanyalah tentang mood, bagaimana kita bisa mengelolanya agar terlihat lebih baik bagi diri maupun orang lain. Bagiku bukan hanya sekedar nada-nada keras yang membuat berisik, tapi jauh kepada makna yang terkandung dalam musik itu sendiri.

Sebenarnya diriku bukanlah penggemar apalagi penggila Punk, tapi katakanlah semenjak mendengar lantunan ekspresi Punk Rock ala  New Found Glory and MxPx, semuanya tampak berbeda. Belum lagi dari genre terpopuler Punk Pop ala All Time Low, makin asyik saja dunia ini. 

Satu lagi, satu musisi yang membuat hatiku kepicut di hari-hari terakhit ini, Alkaline Trio. 

Well, briefly, sudah saatnya hidupku kembali ke spirit yang labil, melupakan segala kesedihan sejenak untuk sekadar memegang erat jalan kesuksesan. Remove the anxiety, forget the betrayal, it's time to move forward!
